The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

BoxReuse aims to make a positive contribution to sustainable development by providing reports in relation to the following four Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the United Nations:

SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production:

This goal aims to promote sustainable consumption and production patterns, including the efficient use of natural resources and the reduction of waste. By buying and selling used cardboard, BoxReuse is contributing to the reduction of waste and promoting the reuse of resources.

SDG 13 – Climate Action:

This goal aims to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. By promoting the reuse of cardboard, BoxReuse is helping to reduce the carbon footprint associated with the production and disposal of new cardboard.

SDG 15 – Life on Land:

This goal aims to protect, restore and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, including forests. By promoting the reuse of cardboard, BoxReuse is helping to reduce the demand for new cardboard made from virgin wood pulp, which can contribute to deforestation

SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals:

This goal aims to strengthen global partnerships to support the achievement of the other SDGs. By promoting the reuse of cardboard, BoxReuse is contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy, which is a key objective of SDG 17.
